Dogs Rules for Christmas

                                                                                                                                                                          1. 1. Be especially patient with your humans during this time. They may appear to be more stressed-out than usual and they will appreciate long comforting dog leans.

2. They may come home with large bags of things they call gifts . Do not assume that all the gifts are yours.

3. Be tolerant if your humans put decorations on you. They seem to get some special kind of pleasure out of seeing how you look with fake antlers.

4. They may bring a large tree into the house and set it up in a prominent place and cover it with lights and decorations. Bizarre as this may seem to you, it is an important ritual for your humans, so there are some things you need to know:

a. Don't pee on the tree

b. Don't drink water in the container that holds the tree

c. Mind your tail when you are near the tree

d. If there are packages under the tree, even ones that smell interesting or that have your name on them, don't rip them open
e. Don't chew on the cord that runs from the funny-looking hole in the wall to the tree

5. Your humans may occasionally invite lots of strangers to come visit during this season. These parties can be lots of fun, but they also call for some discretion on your part:

a. Not all strangers appreciate kisses and leans

b. Don't eat off the buffet table

c. Beg for goodies subtly

d. Be pleasant, even if unknowing strangers sit on your sofa

e. Don't drink out of glasses that are left within your reach

6. Likewise, your humans may take you visiting. Here your manners will also be important:
a. Observe all the rules in #4 for trees that may be in other people's houses. (4a is particularly important)

b. Respect the territory of other animals that may live in the house

c. Tolerate children

d. Turn on your charm big time

7. A big man with a white beard and a very loud laugh may emerge from your fireplace in the middle of the night.

DON'T BITE HIM!!

Merry Christmas to you All!! and be kind to your Pets. Dog Poop led to Mans Arrest

DURHAM, N.C. (AP) - Dog isn't this man's best friend. Josue Herrios-Coronilla, 18, drove his black Camaro on the wrong side of the road Wednesday and crashed into the yard of man who owns four dogs, police said.
Police found crushed bushes, a damaged fence, an inoperable car - and a fresh shoe print in a pile of dog feces.

Following an odoriferous trail down the street, Sgt. Dale Gunter noticed a white van driving toward him. When he asked the passenger to step out, he noticed the smell of alcohol on the man's breath and evidence all over his shoes.

Herrios-Coronilla was charged with driving while impaired and drinking underage and released on $1,500 bail. He could not immediately be reached for comment.  Be sure to leave a small donation to help fight against animal cruelty. Also sign into my Googles Friends Connect and show your our friend.

Georgia Man is Honored for his Efforts to Rescue 100+ Homeless Dogs

The “Very Old Stray (the Old Fella Story)”

When Richard and his wife Sue hopped into their RV and set out for a relaxing Labor Day vacation in 2005, they had no idea their lives were about to change forever. Resting at the Modoc Campground in South Carolina, the couple met their new life companion—in the form of an old, wounded stray dog. Richard and Sue took in the dog, who they named Old Fella, and nursed him back to health. A member of the Good Sam Club, the world’s largest RV owner’s organization, Richard began sharing his experiences on the organization’s RV.net forums and quickly discovered a vast following of other club members that sent him words of encouragement and monetary donations towards Old Fella’s medical bills. Through the “Very Old Stray (the Old Fella Story)” thread, the forum members eventually convinced Richard to establish his own animal shelter, Old Fella Burke County Animal Rescue (OFBCAR), which has saved more than 100 dogs and placed them in good homes.

Sadly, Old Fella passed away this June after struggling for months with arthritis and bone cancer. In loving memory of Old Fella and his legacy as an animal rescue icon, Richard and his devoted animal-loving community will be erecting a statue of Old Fella in the First National Bank Park in Waynesboro, Ga. in 2009. In another remarkable story, Richard spearheaded an effort to transport a disabled dog to her new home across the country by fellow RV.net forum members. In an effort coordinated by postings on the site, Anna, a Labrador retriever who had a leg amputated, was relayed from RV to RV from Georgia to Washington State. Through OFBCAR and RV.net, Richard has not only found homes for these animals, but also blessed families around the country with lifelong companions of their own.

Inspired by his dedication and contagious generosity towards stray animals, Highways Magazine has honored Waynesboro, Ga. native Richard Daniels with the first-ever Good Sam Club’s RVer of the Year award. As a tribute to his humanitarian contributions, Highways will feature Richard on the front cover.

"DANGER! BEWARE OF DOG"

Upon entering the little country store, the stranger noticed a sign saying "DANGER! BEWARE OF DOG!" posted on the glass door. Inside he noticed a harmless old hound dog asleep on the floor besides the cash register.

He asked the store manager, "Is THAT the dog folks are supposed to beware of?"

"Yep, that's him," he replied.

The stranger couldn't help but be amused. "That certainly doesn't look like a dangerous dog to me. Why in the world would you post that sign?"

"Because," the owner replied, "before I posted that sign, people kept tripping over him."

How to Clean your Dogs Ears

Many dogs do not like having their ears cleaned, which makes doing a good job very difficult. It is helpful, before you even begin cleaning your dog's ears that you learn how to make this grooming experience pleasurable for your dog.

Handling Your Dog's Ears

Practice handling your dog's ears gently. Give delicious treats while you massage the outside of and eventually the inside of the ear. Repeat this until your dog really enjoys having his ears handled. Once your dog accepts all kinds of ear manipulation with your hands, repeat the procedure using a cloth and then with cotton balls.

Your Dog's Ears

Dogs with heavy, floppy ears generally need to have their ears cleaned more frequently than dogs with prick ears (which stand upright and allow for better air circulation), and dogs that have a lot of hair in the inside of their ears may require additional maintenance (increased cleaning and for some, plucking of hair growing in the ear).

If your dog is itching his ears a lot, if the ears smell funny, are very red or inflamed, if your dog is constantly shaking his head, it is best to visit your veterinarian as these may be indications of an existing ear infection or other ear problem.

Cleaning Your Dog's Ears

Frequent ear cleanings (weekly) will keep the ears free of wax and debris, and will also allow you to understand what your dog's ears look like when they are healthy. This enables you to more easily recognize any abnormalities in the ear should they arise.

Consult with your veterinarian about recommended dog ear cleaning products. To clean your dog's ears well, you will need an appropriate ear cleaner, a number of cotton balls, and if possible, a helper - someone who can feed the dog treats and keep him calm during the process.

Some dogs have a lot of hair on the inside of the ear. This hair can serve as a reservoir for dirt, debris, and accumulations of earwax. Ask your veterinarian or groomer whether plucking is recommended for your dog. Plucking takes a bit of skill and finesse and can cause discomfort when done incorrectly, so is best left to professionals who have experience on plucking ear hair in dogs. Watch your vet or groomer closely as they pluck the dog's ears, asking any questions you may have about the procedure. Be well prepared with some yummy treats while the vet is plucking the ears, to make this a positive experience for your dog.

Once the ears are free of hair, it is time to begin cleaning. Wash your hands well before and after ear cleaning, and have your supplies ready.

Squirt a small amount of ear cleaning solution into the ear canal. Do not force the nozzle of the bottle into the ear canal as you can cause significant damage this way - only the tip of the bottle should be inserted into the canal. Once you have the solution in the ear, massage the base of the ear to encourage distribution throughout the canal. Be prepared for your dog to shake his head after you apply the solution.

Take a cotton ball and rub the inside of the ear to remove any discharge or any accumulated wax. You may use a Q-tip to get in the crevices at the base of the ear, but do not insert the Q-tip into the ear canal itself. When the base of the ear is clean, you may use soaked cotton balls or a soaked wet cloth to clean the ear flap out toward the tip.

The College of Veterinary Medicine at Washington State University has published great how-to instructions with photos. The restraint methods shown at the top of the article will likely be unnecessary if you have trained your dog to love having his ears manipulated in advance.

If your dog will not tolerate ear cleaning or if you are unsure of how to go about cleaning your dog's ears, you may want to consult with your veterinarian and have her do the cleaning for you. It's always easiest to learn a new skill if you have someone well experienced in its practice to coach and guide you so that you can learn the correct way to implement the task. It is also worth finding a experienced behavioral professional to help you out with tips for how you can train your dog to be more accepting of husbandry techniques including ear cleaning.

Home Remedy Cure for the Manage for your Dog

Published by lilyruth under Dog tips, first aide for dogs, dog grooming, dog training, home remedies, fleas, dogs,
The best cure for dog mange is to mix a 1% hydrogen peroxide solution with water and add borax.Dissolve thoroughly. Wash the dog with it once a week. Do Not Wash the solution left on the dog with ANY WATER. Do not wipe the dog dry. The solution will take effect on mange. The treatment period should not be longer than a month or two. The dog will probably not be resistant as the treatment is painless. This has worked well on dogs I have tried it on. A definitive recipe is add 1-2 tablespoon of borax per 500 cc of 1% hydrogen peroxide solution. plus two parts of water. Then apply them on the dog. Wash with this solution daily, no rinsing. If it doesn’t go away, I have found mites, or mange to have a large beehive hidden somewhere. In case, quarantine the dog in a small area that is sterile. The borax will destroy the eggs from laying under the skin which causes the mange. Get some solution and spray or use this to wipe all floors so the dog will not get re infected. Repeat this every week when bathing. The solution should be applied after you shampoo and rinse your dog. . You cannot rinse the dog of borax and peroxide solution with any shampoo or water. After bathing the dog, keep the dog that way no drying no rinsing. Keep in mind Borax is added directly to the1% hydrogen peroxide solution and no water is added separately, otherwise the solution is too weak. If the mange returns then see your Vet.  Please be sure to give a small donation to help buy food and give shelter to these stray dogs who have no home and I have taken in and care for them to give them a better life then they had before. I need help so please its Christmas time, time to share your blessings and give to those who cannot help themselves are speak up for themselves. I beg of you all to please give something to mke their Christmas a Happy one even if its just this specil time of the year. All you do is click on the DONATE button here on this site and thats it. Please open your hearts if you hate animal cruelty and love dogs and animals help me to help them. Its hard to do it alone and Im ill and am having personal problems of my own but I still do not give up hope that some of you out there will hear my cry for help!!! God Bless you all and please also remember me in your prayers that this pain in my back will go away at least for a few days if not forever. Keep the faith for it is all we have...The end of days is coming nd keep in mind that you cannot take anything with you not your money nor your home nor any of your possessions all you take is the dirt your buried with if your lucky to even take that. So give and let your name stand out in The Good Book at judgement day. Something as small as donationg some money to feed and give shelter to save dogs may seem unimportant now but believe me it will place a big shining star beside your name in the good book. Think about this and don't put it off and wait till tomorrow for you don't know if you may wake up or not tomorrow. Do this now and feel good about yourself now. Be ready I know Iam.. I have very little but thanks to God I share the little I have and I even accept the trial and pain he sets before me for whatever reason he may have at times I wish to question him and ask WHY? but then I think about it asnd it is not for me to ask but to trust and accept .  I know tho at the end my reward will be waiting for me. A DOGS PLEA

A DOGS PLEA

BY:ANONYMOUS

Treat me kindly, my beloved friend, for no

heart in all the world is more grateful for

kindness than the loving heart of me.

Do not break my spirit with a stick, for

though I might lick your hand between blows,

your patience and understanding will more

quickly teach me the things you would have

me learn. Speak to me often, for your voice

is the world's sweetest music, as you must

know by the fierce wagging of my tail when

your footsteps fall upon my waiting ear.

Please take me inside when it is cold and

wet, for I am a domesticated animal, no

longer accustomed to bitter elements.

I ask no greater glory than the privilege of

sitting at your feet beside the hearth. Keep

my pan filled with fresh water, for I cannot

tell you when I suffer thirst. Feed me

clean food that I may stay well, to romp

and play and do your bidding, to walk by your

side, and stand ready, willing and able to

protect you with my life, should your life

be in danger. And, my friend, when I am

very old, and I no longer enjoy good health,

hearing and sight, do not make heroic efforts

to keep me going. I am not having any fun.

Please see that my trusting life is taken

gently, I shall leave this earth knowing with

the last breath I draw that my fate was always

safest in your hands.

Man nabbed after trying to 'scare' lesson into cat

I read this in the news and wanted to show you how cruel and stupid some people can be towards helpless animals. I hope you agree with me that this man got less then he deserved.
BOYNTON BEACH, Fla. - A Boynton Beach man was trying to teach his cat a lesson when he fired his gun, but the efforts landed him in jail. Police said a 43-year-old man was upset that his cat used his bed instead of a litter box. So he took the cat to the garage and fired a handgun into a flotation device to "scare it." The cat was not injured, but the man was charged with shooting in an occupied dwelling and using a firearm while under the influence.
He's being held on a $5,000 bond.

Hero Dog's tale to become a Film

I came across this inspiring story about a man who was at the end of his rope and a dog. This dog gave this man the strength to come back into the world of the living and who gave him hope. I just love stories like this and I do hope they make it into a film so that I and you all who love animals can see the wonderous things these gentle dogs can do. Oh Id also love to see Brad Pitt play the part Smile or my favorite Johhy Depp. I know who ever plays the part it will be a great story to watch. Best of luck with the film . I only wish Directors and stars would make more film like these. I love a good dog film... I hope you all enjoy this story I fund in the news... Source: Lilyruth

Mr Parton described Endal as a "wonder-dog"
The story of how a labrador dog helped an injured Gulf War veteran rebuild his life is to become a film.
Endal, who died aged 13 in March, looked after Allen Parton, an ex-Royal Navy Chief Petty Officer, who suffered serious injuries in 1991.
The dog was able to respond to more than 200 instructions, such as loading and emptying the washing machine at Mr Parton's home in Clanfield, Hampshire.
Now the rights to Mr Parton's memoirs have been bought by a film producer.
Simon Brooks, who has written and made films such as White Noise with Michael Keaton, bought the rights to the story from publisher Harper Collins.
He saw the story in a Sky documentary about eight weeks ago, then discovered Mr Parton and his wife, Sandra, both 50, had written an international best-selling memoir.
He was awarded Dog of the Millennium for being able to put a card in the cash machine and take it out again
Allen Parton
In the book, called Endal, Mr Parton chronicles how the dog helped with his recovery after he spent years in hospital and fell into a coma.
He even saved Mr Parton's life when he fell out of his wheelchair.
Mr Parton told BBC News: "When I couldn't speak, he could read my sign language. He instinctively knew what to do.
"He was awarded Dog of the Millennium for being able to put a card in the cash machine and take it out again. Endal was the help that I needed for the healing process."
When Mr Parton woke from his coma he could not remember marrying his wife or having his children.
'Good therapist'
"Emotionally, I'd lost all contact with my family - I couldn't remember them," he said.
So Mrs Parton suggested they remarried. The couple said Endal played a huge part in bringing them back together.
"Endal was very gentle, nurturing me every day and encouraging me to do things," Mr Parton said.

Endal was able to perform many duties for his owner
"He was a good therapist."
Mr Parton now has a new assistance dog, a 16-month-old puppy called EJ who he says is still "a little bit giggly".
"When Endal went, I thought I was going to be instantly disabled but EJ didn't let that happen."
Mr Parton said it was "absolutely incredible" to have a film made about Endal and joked he wanted to be played by Brad Pitt.
Juliette Towhidi, who wrote Calendar Girls, is writing the script.
Mr Brooks told the BBC: "I caught the last six or seven minutes of the documentary and was enthralled by it and thought that would be a great movie.
"If we're lucky, maybe the film would shoot next summer." Source: The News

Home remedies for dogs allergic to Flea Bites

Is your dog allergic to Flea Bites? For a home remedy you can feed two large teaspoons powdered yeast daily for large dogs.. Add a small amount of garlic powder to the food you feed your dog even if its just his dry dog food. Do this home remedy daily. Also be sure to use Dawn dishwashing liquid when you give you dog a bath . aDD THE Dawn liquid from his neck down be sure not to get into his eyes and leave the dawn liquid on for five minutes then rinse off real good. These home remdies have worked on my five dogs so I do hope they will be of help to your beloved pets. You can also give a bath to it by adding salt in water. You can also add dried bracken ferns under its blanket. All these measures can help you to kill its fleas.

Be sure to leave your comments or if you have any home remedies you wish to contribute to my blog please submit here. Thank you Lilyruth

Peta commits a Blubber.."EMMMM" I mean Blunder

PETA’s new billboard campaign have been raising eyebrows and ire in Jacksonville, Florida especially among women groups.

A drawing on billboards in Jacksonville depicts an obese woman with the phrase, "Save The Whales, Lose The Blubber: Go Vegetarian."

They have officially released a statement that says:

A new PETA billboard campaign that was just launched in Jacksonville reminds people who are struggling to lose weight — and who want to have enough energy to chase a beach ball — that going vegetarian can be an effective way to shed those extra pounds that keep them from looking good in a bikini. [....]

Anyone wishing to achieve a hot "beach bod" is reminded that studies show that vegetarians are, on average, about 10 to 20 pounds lighter than meat-eaters. [...]

"Trying to hide your thunder thighs and balloon belly is no day at the beach," says PETA Executive Vice President Tracy Reiman. "PETA has a free ‘Vegetarian Starter Kit’ for people who want to lose pounds while eating as much as they like.

Hmmmm…while I admit that PETA’s ad campaigns have always been controversial, they never have targeted a specific group of people like this.

And being a fat woman myself, seeing a close replica of what I look like in a red polka-dot bikini beside the word “WHALES” is offensive – too much hidden marketing psy-chol-o-gy sh*t right there people.

But then, I’m not one who easily gets hurt or offended so there. If it encourages “whales” to convert and lose weight, I’m all for it. But there will still be a few polka-dots who will think otherwise. Source: Peta ad campaign

Plea after Blind Dog founded Dumped

An animal charity has condemned a dog-owner who abandoned an elderly golden retriever at a roadside in New Pitsligo, Aberdeenshire.

The Scottish SPCA appealed for information after the animal was found on the Brownhill road near Fraserburgh, suffering from serious health problems.

The dog, who was blind and suffering from testicular cancer, had to be put down after he was found on Sunday.

The SSPCA said anyone causing suffering to an animal would be punished.

If found guilty they could expect to be banned from owning animals and face penalties up to a maximum of 12 months in prison, a £20,000 fine or both.

A passerby contacted the charity after finding the male golden retriever on the country road at about 1030 BST on Sunday.

His owner should have sought veterinary treatment for him long before it got to this stage

Fiona McKenzie
Scottish SPCA
His condition was so bad that the vet who examined him had no option but to put him to sleep.

Scottish SPCA inspector, Fiona McKenzie said: "This poor dog was found in a horrendous state.

"He was almost completely bald on his body, which a vet has advised us may have been linked to his testicular tumours and he was blind as a result of glaucoma and cataracts.

"His teeth were also in advanced stages of decay.

"These illnesses would have been causing him significant pain and discomfort."

She said he was found pacing in circles by the roadside.

"He was clearly disorientated and given his condition we can't imagine that he was simply straying or had wandered off from home," she said.

"We believe someone abandoned him.

"His owner should have sought veterinary treatment for him long before it got to this stage."

Dangling dog rescued from ledge

It makes me feel good to read stories like this one that show people who care enough to get involed and help to save a dog.
Firefighters in Bristol rescued a dog that had slipped from a window sill and was left dangling by its paws 50ft (15m) above the ground.
When crews arrived in the early hours of Friday they found a neighbour on a ladder supporting the dog's weight.
After assisting the neighbour, fire officers returned the dog to its owner of the second-floor flat, who was asleep in bed.
It is believed the window may have been open and the dog had slipped.
"Fortunately the dog, possibly a boxer cross, was uninjured in the ordeal," an Avon Fire and Rescue Service spokeswoman

Arthritis And Hip Dysplasia in Old Dogs

When it comes to caring for your old dog, Arthritis and Hip Dysplasia may be two of the most difficult diseases for dog owners to contend with. Although both diseases can affect all breeds and sizes, the larger breeds seem to have a higher risk for Hip Dysplasia.
These are very painful diseases and can be distressing for dog owners who often feel helpless. There are several prescription drugs available through your veterinarian that can help your old dog tremendously. Take note that although these drugs will help quickly, unfortunately, they are very hard on your dog's organs just as quickly. Most veterinarians do blood work every six months to monitor animals when placed on non-steroidal drugs.
Unfortunately, there are no cures for Arthritis, Osteoarthritis or Hip Dysplasia. As we all know, prevention is the best cure. Although genetics does play a role, by starting your dog on a whole diet that includes fresh meat and vegetables as early on as possible is critical for preventing and rehabilitation of these diseases.
We have seen tremendous results by feeding our own dogs a fresh diet rich in nutrients and by integrating a component that naturally Renews Synovial Fluid Around The Damaged Joints.
A high potency formula of Glucosamine can often provide much needed comfort and relief for older dogs with full blown arthritis. While the pill form might cost less, it does not have the benefits that a liquid does. Avoid pill forms found at the local supermarket or drug store, they just don't have the potency to do the job.
We did our own research and found an excellent product that we use on our own dogs, however, this glucosamine must be refridgerated for shelf life. It is economically priced at half the cost of most others and you get a larger bottle as well: Now Foods Liquid Glucosamine/Chondroitin 16oz.
If your dog is currently on prescription medications, always inform your veterinarian when adding any new treatment or medicines whether all natural or not.
Tips For Joint Pain And Stiffness In Your Old Dog
Give "Coated" Aspirin such as Ascriptin but NEVER IBUPROFEN or any products that contain Ibuprofen.
A dog bed made specifically for dogs with joint problems.
Purchase doggie stairs or a ramp and never allow him to jump and land on his front legs.
Don't put his bed directly in front of the air conditioner vent.

Renting with Dogs

I came across this article and I thought Id share it with you all. Its about a topic that goes on everyday and more of us should think about and consider helping out....More people who rent houses are apartments should rent with people who have pets, this would keep them together and avoid the people having to get rid of their loyal companions whom they love or avoid having to pay so much pet deposit if they are lucky to find a place that accepts pets but they still have to pay an ourageous pet deposit.
Am pleased to say that after taking the initiative to advertise dogs accepted on our rental property, we have just signed up a new tenant for a year that was struggling to find somewhere as they have a dog.It means that I have to sort a fence out but we are pleased to have the place rented again with only one month dicontinuity of tenancy and glad to be able to at least help someone out with a home in this difficult times ..After this article was posted then a reply was also posted that said" Am pleased to say that after taking the initiative to advertise dogs accepted on our rental property, we have just signed up a new tenant for a year that was struggling to find somewhere as they have a dog.It means that I have to sort a fence out but we are pleased to have the place rented again with only one month dicontinuity of tenancy and glad to be able to at least help someone out with a home in this difficult times .So you see you can spread the word and in time who knows maybe their will be more places that will rent to people who own pets" Let's hope so anyway.. Northern Ireland Shamed by Treatment of Death Row Dog, Bruce

The comments coming from around the world on the desperate plight of Bruce, a dog condemned to die by the law for no other reason that the way he looks, have brought shame to the United Kindom for its continued use of breed specific legislation. As Bruce’s deadly situation has captured the attention and worry of dog lovers all around the world, it offers a sad and embarassing glimpse in to a law which has taken innocent lives ever since its inception in 1991.
The UK is currently (rightly) in uproar about the deaths of two police dogs, left to swelter in a parked car on one of the hottest days of the year. But their deaths are heavily and shamefully outnumbered by the countless corpses of dogs who have been intentionally killed by the UK Government.
If you are a British politician and you sit idly by as MILLIONS of pounds of tax payer’s money is sloshed up the wall trying to enforce a law that even the enforcers accept is literally impossible to maintain - never, ever try and claim to be an animal lover if you refuse to act and use your influence to remove breed specific legislation from the statute books NOW.
If you are a tax payer, you have a RIGHT to demand your money be well spent. The 1991 Dangerous Dogs Act has:
NOT reduced dog attacks
NOT saved lives
NOT been possible to implement
NOT been properly administered (because it can’t be)
NOT been effective in any way, shape or form
and now is NOT even attempted to be defended by the legislators responsible for it
Bruce’s life still hangs in the balance. But what’s not in question any longer is that the United Kingdom can never, ever claim to call itself a nation of animal lovers if it intends to systematically kill dogs for NO other reason that what their parents were or what they happened to be born looking like.
If you weren’t aware, two perfectly legal dog breeds can (and do) produce offspring which are deemed illegal.
For example, a Boxer x Staffordshire Bull Terrier can produce a ‘Pit Bull type’ as can any number of other combinations. And so our response to that occurence should be what? To kill the dogs?
Our dangerous dogs laws are not only ineffective, costly and downright cruel - they are a national embarassment. Just take a look….
The RSPCA, USPCA, British Government and Northern Ireland Assembly ALL continually urge the public to place appropriate value on animal welfare.
What sort of example are they setting if they kill this dog when the offer for him to live legally in Eire is on the table?
What role model is government projecting when it kills WITHOUT NEED?
PLEASE do the right and humane thing and save this poor creature who has already suffered so much when he has done nothing wrong. We only ask that he be allowed to go where it is legal for him to be and not be killed senselessly. There is absolutely no reason that this can’t happen as it would cause no one harm for him to leave. We ask you for sweet Bruce.
I am appauled at a country that shows such indifference towards animal. This dog has a place to go to live out his life free. Haven’t they tormented this animal long enough. Are the egos of the judges/Ministers in Ireland so large that it overshadows the heart.
There is no justification in killing this dog Bruce. Are you ashamed of the fact that through your ill equipped holding system and obviously ignorant and insensitive staff Bruce has suffered both mentaly and physically.Do you not want the extent of your neglect to become common knowledge IS THIS THE REASON FOR THE DESTRUCTION ORDER. As part of the UK you should adhere to common scense and parden this dog who at least has a bolt hole.
I can’t believe people still cling to the bigoted “it looks like a pit so it must be dangerous” ignorance. How would you like to be jailed because “you’re Irish so therefore you must be IRA”? Stop generalizing and let that dog go home to his family. HE DID NOTHING WRONG!
And voters, I’d take a second long, hard look at such arbitrary and uninformed officials; you need to elect someone who knows a hawk from a handsaw.
What the hell kind of country are you running over there ?Im from the United States and have always loved Ireland.Have been there many times, since I married and Irishmen. I will tell you this. I will never return until the BSL law is overturned. It is unjust and downright awful. To allow this to happen to an innocent , is outrageous.
FREE BRUCE IMMEDIATLY!
Well that is it for me. I had a trip booked for Ireland in the Fall. I will take the loss of my non refundable ticket. As long as there are BSL laws , I will not visit. Will also advise all my friends and family to also stay away from Ireland.I can’t imagine any country that would make a poor dog suffer like Ireland has made Bruce suffer. He’s a living creature, for Gods sake man, if you keep on this barbaric road, your children might be next, because he’s lousy in math or some sort of crap like that ...Author Details Ryan O'Meara
